Text me when you get home&#38;nbsp;is a sentence we feel the need to write to our loved ones when they come home after a night out.&#38;nbsp;
 Text me when you get home is an installation consisting of twelve merino wool blankets arranged on an aluminium frame. Each blanket features phrases related to mental health and intersectional gender-based violence. The graphics are reminiscent of the style of fanzines: amateur magazines that emerged in the mid-1950s in the United States, low-cost and with a limited circulation, created for fans of specific fields such as underground music, independent literature and subcultures. Texts and images were cut out of newspapers and glued onto a sheet of paper, which was then scanned and photocopied countless times until it lost definition. As it was expensive to print in color, people chose to print in black on colored paper to make the messages stand out. The appeal of fanzines lies in their need to spread a message to a wide audience using a cheap medium (the photocopier) that allowed mass production. Just like a flyers or a fanzines, these objects aim to convey messages with immediacy. Although the texts may be unpleasant and uncomfortable, visitors can find temporary shelter in the wool softness, which they can touch and use to cover themselves.


There is a CD player in the space, from which the visitors can listen to the album “Canti delle Donne in Lotta” (Songs of Women in Struggle), an album published in 1975 by the Roman section of the feminist movement, which contains a series of ballads with powerful lyrics written by the women of the movement. Visitors can choose a song of their choice while they unfold, touch, read and perhaps use the blankets to cover themselves while lying on the soft seats specially designed for the exhibition.

Text me when you get home è un'installazione composta da dodici coperte di lana merino disposte su una struttura di alluminio, ogni coperta riporta frasi relative alla salute mentale e alla violenza di genere intersezionale. La grafica ricorda lo stile delle fanzine: riviste amatoriali nate a metà degli anni Cinquanta negli Stati Uniti, a basso costo e a tiratura limitata, create per gli appassionati di settori specifici come la musica underground, la letteratura indipendente e le sottoculture. Testi e immagini venivano ritagliati dai giornali e incollati su un foglio di carta, che veniva poi scansionato e fotocopiato innumerevoli volte fino a perdere definizione. Poiché era costoso stampare a colori, si sceglieva di stampare in nero su carta colorata per far risaltare i messaggi. Il fascino delle fanzine risiede nella necessità di diffondere un messaggio a un vasto pubblico utilizzando un mezzo economico (la fotocopiatrice) che consentiva una produzione di massa. Proprio come i volantini o le fanzine, questi oggetti mirano a trasmettere messaggi con immediatezza. Anche se i testi possono risultare sgradevoli e scomodi, i visitatori possono trovare un rifugio temporaneo nella morbidezza della lana, che possono toccare e usare per coprirsi.


Nello spazio è presente un lettore CD, dal quale i visitatori possono ascoltare l'album "Canti delle Donne in Lotta", un album pubblicato nel 1975 dalla sezione romana del movimento femminista, che contiene una serie di ballate con testi potenti scritti dalle donne del movimento. I visitatori possono scegliere una canzone a piacere mentre dispiegano, toccano, leggono e magari usano le coperte per coprirsi mentre si sdraiano sulle morbide poltrone appositamente progettate per la mostra.

Workshop + Performance

	
					Sorry Mom x Orefici11 is the result of several workshops with a group of young people aged between 16 and 20, which ended with a performance featuring the workshop participants. During the workshop, many texts were analyzed, from which the young people extracted phrases that were used to customize the clothes they wore during the performance. The clothes were cut, embroidered, sewn and personalized with the phrases chosen during the workshop, which were transferred to the new clothes using thermo adhesive material.
The performance and the project were musically supported by a group of young rappers who performed during the evening, also wearing the clothes created during the workshop.The project was sponsored by VF Corporation, The North Face, Timberland, Dickies and Napapijri.

	(ITA)Sorry Mom x Orefici11 è il risultato di diversi workshop con un gruppo di giovani tra i 16 e i 20 anni, che si sono conclusi con una performance che ha visto protagonisti i partecipanti al workshop. Durante il workshop sono stati analizzati alcuni testi, dai quali i giovani hanno estratto frasi che sono state utilizzate per personalizzare gli abiti che hanno indossato durante la performance Gli abiti sono stati tagliati, ricamati, cuciti e personalizzati con le frasi scelte durante il laboratorio, che sono state trasferite sui nuovi abiti con materiale termoadesivo.
La performance e il progetto sono stati supportati musicalmente da un gruppo di giovani rapper che si sono esibiti durante la serata, indossando anch'essi gli abiti creati durante il workshop.Il progetto è stato sponsorizzato da VF Corporation, The North Face, Timberland, Dickies e Napapijri.

	Sorry Mom is a multisensory installation composed of a spiral text on the floor, a video viewable while lying on a large seat, a rose scent diffused throughout the space, an immersive soundscape, and a soft blue neon light that washes over all the elements in the room.


To read the spiral text, the viewer must physically follow its path, in a circle that becomes increasingly narrow. The roles of the characters — victim and aggressor — overlap and blur; the sentences could belong to either one.

Positioned diagonally in the space, the seat is shaped like a giant Xanax pill. Lying on it, viewers can watch a video suspended horizontally above them.


The conceptual core of Sorry Mom originates from two poems by Pier Paolo Pasolini dedicated to his mother: Ballad of the Mothers and Prayer to My Mother, both included in the collection Poetry in the Shape of a Rose, published by Garzanti in 1964. &#38;gt;&#38;gt;&#38;gt; continues below

Per leggere il testo a spirale, lo spettatore deve seguirne fisicamente il percorso, in un cerchio che si fa sempre più stretto. I ruoli dei personaggi — vittima e aggressore — si sovrappongono e si confondono; le frasi potrebbero appartenere all’uno come all’altro.

Disposta in diagonale nello spazio, la seduta ha la forma di una gigante pillola di Xanax. Sdraiandosi su di essa, si può guardare un video sospeso orizzontalmente al di sopra di essa.


Il nucleo concettuale di Sorry Mom nasce da due poesie di Pier Paolo Pasolini dedicate alla madre: Ballata delle madri e Supplica a mia madre, entrambe incluse nella raccolta Poesia in forma di rosa, pubblicata da Garzanti nel 1964. &#38;gt;&#38;gt;&#38;gt; continua sotto

Ballad of the Mothers opens with the line: “I wonder what kind of mothers you had.” With this verse, Pasolini seems to humanize the figure of the aggressor, inviting reflection on the possibility that those who commit violence may themselves have been victims — trapped in a cycle that perpetuates itself.


The installation develops this theme through its spatial elements and through a musical performance by rapper Noah “Rilla” Kretschmann, who performs on a construction scaffold that imposes itself in the space as a sculptural element.


Kretschmann wrote the lyrics for the song inspired by the spiral text, which gives the exhibition its title: Sorry Mom. The track plays on loop throughout the exhibition, alternating with an immersive soundscape by Luca Napoli, who reworked Kretschmann’s piece into a layered sonic environment.


Together, these elements shape an emotionally charged space that explores the complex relationship between victim and perpetrator, between parents and children, memory and trauma.
	
(ITA)&#38;nbsp;Ballata delle madri si apre con il verso: “Mi domando che madri avete avuto”. Con questa frase, Pasolini sembra umanizzare la figura dell’aggressore, invitando a riflettere sulla possibilità che chi compie violenza sia stato a sua volta vittima — intrappolato in un ciclo che si ripete.


L’installazione sviluppa questo tema attraverso la disposizione degli elementi nello spazio e una performance musicale del rapper Noah “Rilla” Kretschmann, che si esibisce su un’impalcatura da cantiere che si impone nello spazio come elemento scultoreo.


Kretschmann ha scritto il testo della canzone ispirandosi al testo a spirale che dà il titolo alla mostra: Sorry Mom. La traccia viene riprodotta in loop per tutta la durata dell’esposizione, alternandosi a un paesaggio sonoro immersivo realizzato da Luca Napoli, che ha rielaborato il brano in una composizione stratificata.


Insieme, questi elementi danno forma a uno spazio emotivamente denso, che esplora il rapporto complesso tra vittima e carnefice, genitori e figli, memoria e trauma.

	“Defence. What do you do with your anger?” is a found footage collage in which we
witness a succession of situations where different people try in different ways to defend
themselves from physical, emotional and environmental oppression, without succeeding. Sometimes because the problem, compared o the means
available to the protagonists, is impossible to face.Sometimes because the enemy they are fighting with is physically stronger. In other cases,
because the defence mode they implement is self-destructive and leads the protagonists
to ridicule themselves in front of the smartphone camera of any person who, cowardly,
films in an amused way. Found footage videos have been reshot with a smartphone filming
a computer monitor, as if to replicate that perverse mechanism of entertained voyeurism
and “Shadenfreude”, similarly to those situations when the passer by, instead of helping,
films the scene.

					
(ITA)“Defence. What do you do with your anger?” è un collage di found footage in cui
assistiamo a un susseguirsi di situazioni in cui persone diverse cercano in modi diversi
di difendersi dall'oppressione fisica, emotiva e ambientale, senza riuscirci: a volte
perché il problema, rispetto ai mezzi a disposizione dei protagonisti, è impossibile da
affrontare, a volte perché il nemico con cui si scontrano è fisicamente più forte. In altri
casi, perché la modalità di difesa che mettono in atto è autodistruttiva e porta i
protagonisti a ridicolizzarsi davanti alla telecamera dello smartphone di chiunque,
vigliaccamente, filmi in modo divertito. I video di found footage sono stati girati con uno
smartphone che riprende il monitor di un computer, quasi a replicare quel perverso
meccanicismo di divertito voyeurismo e "Shadenfreude", analogamente a quelle
situazioni in cui il passante, invece di aiutare, riprende la scena.

“Defence Supermagnum” is a box containing 50 Allevi Supermagnum firecrackers covered
with a label that reports some of the questions posed by the Judge for Preliminary
Investigations Mario Profeta to the two American students during the interrogation in the
court of Florence who sentenced the Carabinieri Pietro Costa and Marco Camuffo for
sexual violence following the abuses occurred on the night between 6 and 7 September
2017. The defence lawyers, in fact presented a list of 250 questions for each of the two
girls, of which only a third was deemed admissible by the judge, but among those that were still asked , we could read in the newspapers: “Is this the first time you have
been raped in your life?”, “Do you have a boyfriend?”, “Do you find man in uniform sexy?”,
“Were you wearing underwear?”. Like an unexploded mine ready to jump, the firecracker
is designed to be triggered and to smash every superstructure that still feeds on rhetoric
which is as violent as the actions subjected to judgement.

ricoperti da un'etichetta che riporta alcune delle domande poste dal Giudice per le
indagini preliminari Mario Profeta a due studentesse americane durante
l'interrogatorio presso il tribunale di Firenze che ha condannato i carabinieri Pietro
Costa e Marco Camuffo per violenza sessuale a seguito degli abusi avvenuti nella
notte tra il 6 e il 7 settembre 2017. Gli avvocati difensori, infatti, hanno presentato una
lista di 250 domande per ciascuna delle due ragazze, di cui solo un terzo è stato
ritenuto ammissibile dal giudice, ma tra quelle che sono state comunque poste, si legge
sui giornali: "È la prima volta che vieni violentata in vita tua?", "Hai un fidanzato?", "Trovi
sexy un uomo in uniforme?", "Indossavi la biancheria intima?". Come una mina
inesplosa pronta a saltare, il petardo è progettato per essere innescato e per
distruggere ogni sovrastruttura che ancora si nutre di una retorica violenta quanto le
azioni sottoposte a giudizio.

	“Greetings from Kenya to Europe” is a display case that
contains a colony of one hundred sub-adult migratory locusts
and a Lonely Planet guide to Kenya. The work was created at the beginning of 2020, a time when
first China, and then Europe, began to come to terms wit the pandemic. At the same time, the Horn of Africa and Kenya
in particular were experiencing the largest locust invasion
recorded in 75 years. 
Swarms 2,400 kilometres large, almost
twice the size of the city of Rome, swept through north-eastern
Kenya, swarms so large that they numbered up to 19 million insects that in one day can eat the amount of food that
90 million people would consume.

	(ITA)“Greetings from Kenya to Europe" è una teca che contiene una colonia di cento
locuste migratorie sub adulte e una guida Lonely Planet del Kenya. L'opera è stata
realizzata all'inizio del 2020, un momento in cui prima la Cina e poi l'Europa iniziavano a
fare i conti con la pandemia. Allo stesso tempo, il Corno d'Africa e il Kenya in particolare
stavano vivendo la più grande invasione di locuste registrata negli ultimi 75 anni. 
Sciami
grandi 2.400 chilometri, quasi il doppio della città di Roma, attraversavano il nord-est
del Kenya, così grandi da contare fino a 192 milioni di insetti che in un giorno possono
mangiare la quantità di cibo che consumerebbero 90 milioni di persone.

	“Self Defence” is composed by five engravings on a fluorescent
Plexiglas sheet fixed to the wall with Raudi Allevi firecrackers
illustrate self-defence techniques, theoretically flawless
methods but completely ineffective since, in most cases, those who find themselves in these situations feel paralyzed
and unable to react.

					
	(ITA)“Self Defence” è composto da cinque incisioni su una lastra di plexiglass fluorescente
fissata al muro con petardi Raudi Allevi che illustrano tecniche di autodifesa,
teoricamente impeccabili ma del tutto inefficaci poiché, nella maggior parte dei casi,
chi si trova in queste situazioni si sente paralizzato e incapace di reagire.

	In “Diptych - Thoughts on time perception” the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and
isolation are revealed in the relationship between two adolescents, removed from the
normal development of group dynamics and interpersonal relationships between peers, in
a phase of life in which the perception of each event and of the passing of time itself
appears enormously amplified, dilated, intensified. Significantly, the work unfolds like a diptych, borrowing the structure of a medieval sacred icon, one that could easily be closed
and taken away in the event of a siege or sudden escape.The classic iconography of saints and martyrs are replaced by photographs of two young
people during a day-long video call, like the previous and the next: a relationship that is
consummated in the virtual sphere even if they are only a few kilometres apart.

						On the external walls of the aseptic diptych, specially made with cold materials such as
steel and Plexiglas, two emojis (a fiery heart) and lyrics taken from the songs of American
artists Lil Peep and Juice Wrld are laser engraved to build a new code of iconographic and
verbal references for a new generation that no longer identifies itself with symbols and
values belonging to an anachronistic past.
	(ITA)In "DIPTYCH -Thoughts on time perception" gli effetti della pandemia del Covid-19 e
dell'isolamento si rivelano nel rapporto tra due adolescenti, sottratti al normale
sviluppo delle dinamiche di gruppo e delle relazioni interpersonali tra coetanei, in una
fase della vita in cui la percezione di ogni evento e dello stesso scorrere del tempo
appare enormemente amplificata, dilatata, intensificata. Significativamente, l'opera si
svolge come un dittico, mutuando la struttura di un'icona sacra medievale, facilmente
richiudibile e asportabile in caso di assedio o di fuga improvvisa. All'iconografia
classica di santi e martiri si sostituiscono le fotografie di due giovani durante una
videotelefonata di un giorno, come il precedente e il successivo: un rapporto che si
consuma nella sfera virtuale, anche se a pochi chilometri di distanza. Sulle pareti
esterne dell'asettico dittico, appositamente realizzate con materiali freddi come
l'acciaio e il plexiglas, sono incise al laser due emoji (un cuore infuocato) e testi tratti
dalle canzoni degli artisti americani Lil Peep e Juice Wrld, per costruire un nuovo
codice di riferimenti iconografici e verbali per una nuova generazione che non si
identifica più con simboli e valori appartenenti a un passato anacronistico.

						“STELLA magazine” is the result of the workshop “Defence. What do you do with your
anger?” held by artist Simona Andrioletti in two communities for minors in Verona: Parsifal
and San Zeno che ride. STELLA wants to celebrate and support the youth of the
communities by giving them the opportunity to share to their city some thoughts they feel
particularly close. The magazine was distributed in different neighbourhoods of Verona suggested by the young people. A special thanks to the adolescent who gave their
valuable contribution and who are portrayed in the magazine by Jonas Höschl, including:
Alessandro Fadda, Sofia Gordin, Giorgia Barbirato, Alim Colisnicenco, Bader Gliba and
Capoghetto (Nicky Tessarini) from the Parsifal Community; Dilowar Hussain, Rumon Mia,
Arjet Mena, Armond Mena and Kasem Mia of the San Zeno Laughing Community; last but
not least, thanks to rapper Ayson and his right-hand man and friend Gennaro Vilardi.
